Word Assignment Criteria

There are several things you must do to "play" with each word. This will help you retain the meaning of the word and be able to use it correctly.
1. Describe the word. Don't define it. Remember the difference between "a round bouncy thing used to play games" and "a spherical orb"?
2. Name the part of speech.
3. List at least three synonyms, or antonyms, or similar etymological words (identifying which it is).
4.Draw or import a picture of the word.
5.Write a sentence using the word correctly.
For ongoing EXTRA CREDIT: Highlight and use vocabulary words in your writing.
EXTRA CREDIT: Find any vocabulary words in your outside reading, cut out the word or make a copy of it and put it on the "WORD WALL" (include your name, date, and source. Computer generated examples will NOT be accepted).
