Cognate

Cognate: (adjective)
A relation to a person like a family member or something similar.
My cognate aunt looked just like me when she was a teen.
Other Words: descent, related, and an antonym of dislike.


Derivative (noun)
Something that is made or the product one gets when forming something new. It can be scientific or mathematical.
In the math problem I was able find a derivative to x.
Other Words: secondary, unoriginal, and for a synonym unique


Diminutive (adjective or sometimes a noun)
It can be used to talk about a little size or can be used when talking to kids.
Mom talked in a diminutive voice to me when I was five.
Other Words: small, intimate, and a synonym of enormous.


Inflection (noun)
It makes a rounded bump whether it is in a voice or not. A person can speak with different pitches, which will vary it.
Mr. Sprik used Inflection in his speech to make sure his point was heard.
Other Words: variation, distinction, and a synonym is monotone


Orthography (noun)
Being able to write and talk right with our grammar.
I composed an autobiography with the right orthography.
